The research group

The IRN Coast-inland dynamics in hunter-gatherer societies (PrehCOAST) is a network involving researchers from Spain (Santander), France (Bordeaux, Brest, La Rochelle, Paris, Rennes, and Toulouse), Latvia (Riga) and Norway (Oslo). It integrates specialists (archaeologists and environmentalists) who devote all or part of their work to the issues of prehistoric societies (Paleolithic, Mesolithic, Neolithic) in their environment.

Field archaeology and working meeting: PrehCOAST management team on Hoedic Island in June 2019 (@Gregor Marchand).

At this stage, the network involves 27 people from 8 laboratories in France and 1 laboratory in each of the partner countries (Spain, Latvia, Norway). At this stage, it is more the existence of obvious research links that presided over the association of these researchers.
